Does God Hear Your Prayers?

Sadly to say, contrary to what man believes, the Lord does NOT hear the prayers of sinners as indicated in the following verses:

John 9:31 - Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

Isaiah 59:2 - But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Proverbs 15:29 - The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

Psalm 66:18 - If I regard iniquity in my heart the Lord will not hear me.

So, whose prayers does the Lord hear? According to the word of God, the Lord hears the prayers of the righteous---and who are the righteous? The righteous are those who the Lord saves from his wrath (the elect of God).

The Lord hears the prayers of his elect after he gives them a regenerated heart (Ezekiel 36:24 - 27) that causes them to become broken and sorrowful before him. With a broken and contrite heart (Psalm 34:18), God's elect become aware that they are nothing (Isaiah 64:6) and that it is only by God's will, mercy, and grace that they can obtain salvation. Once the Lord gives his elect a regenerated heart, He draws them unto himself through his word (John 6:44). The elect are indwelled with the Holy Spirit and are given the spiritual understanding of the bible (John 4:24), which causes them to know what it is that they are to pray for (John 5:14) ---because ultimately, it is the Lord who causes his elect to will and to do of his good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). Ezekiel 36:24 - 27- For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. 25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statues, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Psalm 34:18 - The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Isaiah 64:6 - But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

John 6: 44 - No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 4:24 - God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

John 5:14 - And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

Philippians 2:13 - For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
